We are delighted to share the outstanding multiple achievements of our students and researchers at the Human Proteome Organisation (HUPO) World Congress 2026, held in Singapore from 27 September to 1 October 2026. The congress attracted 1,466 participants and received more than 1,000 abstract submissions, making it the largest HUPO meeting ever held in Asia.
Ms Elisavet Kalaitsidou (Year 4 PhD Student under Prof Wu Wei) received the Top Prize in the 3 Minute Thesis Competition. The award was selected by proteomics experts from the HUPO 2026 Scientific Advisory Committee. Her presentation, “Decoding the Human Tyrosine Phosphorylation Circuitry with Tailored Mass Spectrometry Assays,” successfully communicated her doctoral research to a broad audience in less than three minutes.
These achievements reflect the high quality, innovation, and international impact of the research conducted by our students and scientists. The recognition received at HUPO 2026 underscores their contributions to advancing proteomics research, cancer therapeutics, immunotherapy, and mass spectrometry technologies.
Congratulations to Wei and her team, Weiting, Elisavet, Daryl, Ruojing, Ilisia, Thamizhanban and all collaborators on these exceptional accomplishments. We look forward to their continued success and contributions to advancing biomedical science and improving human health.
