We are delighted to share the outstanding multiple achievements of our students and researchers at the Human Proteome Organisation (HUPO) World Congress 2026, held in Singapore from 27 September to 1 October 2026. The congress attracted 1,466 participants and received more than 1,000 abstract submissions, making it the largest HUPO meeting ever held in Asia.
Dr Thamizhanban Manoharan (Postdoctoral Scientist at A*STAR under Prof Wu Wei) received a HUPO 2026 Poster Prize in the postdoctoral category for his work titled “Integrative Proteogenomic Identification of Non-canonical Intron Retention Derived Neoantigens in AML.” Awardees were selected based on the combined evaluations of ten expert judges from the HUPO 2026 Scientific Advisory Committee. In addition, Dr Thamizhanban Manoharan was awarded the Asian Oceania Young Scientist Poster Award for the same project. The award was independently assessed and conferred by the Executive Committee of the Asian Oceania Human Proteome Organisation (AOHUPO).
These achievements reflect the high quality, innovation, and international impact of the research conducted by our students and scientists. The recognition received at HUPO 2026 underscores their contributions to advancing proteomics research, cancer therapeutics, immunotherapy, and mass spectrometry technologies.
Congratulations to Wei and her team, Weiting, Elisavet, Daryl, Ruojing, Ilisia, Thamizhanban and all collaborators on these exceptional accomplishments. We look forward to their continued success and contributions to advancing biomedical science and improving human health.
