The Amgen Research Scholars Programme provides outstanding undergraduate students from leading universities across Asia with opportunities to engage in cutting-edge biomedical research, foster international scientific collaboration, and develop their research capabilities through immersive laboratory experiences. The programme culminates in the Amgen Asia Research Symposium, which brings together scholars and faculty members from participating institutions to share research outcomes, exchange ideas, and strengthen professional networks within the scientific community.

Aurell Wijaya, an Amgen Scholar from the City University of Hong Kong, completed an 8-week research attachment under the Amgen Research Scholars Programme  and is hosted by Associate Prof Rachel Ee. She is awarded Second Place in the Amgen Asia Research Symposium Best Poster Competition held at the University of Tokyo from 3–5 August. The symposium brought together more than 100 research scholars and faculty members from six host universities, namely National University of Singapore (NUS), Tsinghua University, The University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H), and the University of Melbourne, for research exchange and networking.

Congratulations to Aurell and Rachel for this outstanding recognition. Well done!
