Research Highlights

 

The NRF CRP34 grant seeks to support collaborative and interdisciplinary research teams in pursuing impactful research that addresses key national priorities and scientific challenges. Through the Competitive Research Programme, the National Research Foundation Singapore aims to advance frontier research, foster innovation across disciplines, and drive transformative outcomes that strengthen Singapore’s research and innovation ecosystem.

Associate Professor Rachel Ee, as Co-Investigator, received the grant award under CRP34-20, led by A/Prof Chng Shu Sin from the Department of Chemistry, for the project titled “Unravelling and targeting mechanisms of bacterial lipid transport and outer membrane dynamics to combat AMR”, with a total grant value of S$9.99M. This project seeks to advance the understanding of the fundamental mechanisms governing bacterial lipid transport and outer membrane dynamics, which play critical roles in bacterial survival and resistance. The findings will support the development of novel therapeutic strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), addressing a growing global health challenge and contributing to the discovery of innovative treatments against drug-resistant bacterial infections.
