She lectures on Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Complementary and Alternative Medicine as well as Natural Products.
Research
A/Prof Koh’s research programme covers the quality (screening for adulterants and drug analogues, effects of processing), safety of herbal medicine (adverse drug reactions, regulatory control) and efficacy of medicinal plants (drug discovery) growing in the region.
To ensure that her research stays relevant, she has surveyed the general public, pharmacists and users of fresh medicinal plants to understand the usage, knowledge and perceptions regarding various complementary medicine including fresh medicinal plants.
Her research has direct relevance to daily life and has led to the invitations to sit in various research/advisory committees and expert panel, both at international and national levels, impacting policies and ensuring public safety and interests.
