Teaching Activities in NUS
Chui Wai Keung has a teaching portfolio that covers subjects ranging from healthcare to pharmaceutical sciences. He is responsible for modules on Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Bioorganic Principles of Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products and Complementary Medicines & Health.
Research Interests
His research interests have led him to work on the design and physicochemical property study of new chemical substances that exhibit potential anticonvulsant and antifolate activities. In the study, he uses tools and techniques such as computer-aided molecular modelling, combinatorial synthesis and various biological assays to identify leads and develop new molecules that have more drug-like properties. In addition to work on drug design, he also works on the standardisation of botanical drugs, method development for bioanalysis and chiral separation of optically active drug molecules.
