Teaching Activities in NUS

Chui Wai Keung has a teaching portfolio that covers subjects ranging from healthcare to pharmaceutical sciences. He teaches primarily in the integrated curriculum of the B.Pharm.(Hons.) programme. He covers topics such as Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry, and Natural Products across a few organ systems. He integrates the topics into pharmacy practice with the aim of helping students rationalize the scientific bases of pharmacotherapy. The integration focuses on quality, efficacy and safety of drug use.

Research Interests

Chui Wai Keung has developed research interests in three broad areas of scholarship in teaching and learning. First is the learning behaviour of healthcare students and how students develop self-directed learning habits through learning activities offered in the professional programme; one of which is the use of AI for self-directed learning to hone skills for patient interaction. Second is honing competency for interprofessional collaborative practice through interprofessional education that underpins a common curriculum for medical, dental, nursing and pharmacy students. Third is curricular development for competency-based education for pharmacy students through observations by preceptors during experiential placements.
