NUS Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is the first licensed partner of American Pharmacists Association (APhA) in Singapore to conduct the Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery Training Program.

APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training program is based on national educational standards for immunization training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This practice-based curriculum represents a fusion of science and clinical pharmacy. The program, which emphasizes a health care team approach, seeks to foster the implementation of interventions that will promote disease prevention and public health. The purpose of this certificate training program is to prepare pharmacists with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to provide immunization services to patients across the life span.

This one-time certification training program is taught in a blended learning format.
Part 1: Self-study (approximately 12 hours)
Part 2: Live seminar (8 hours)
Learners are required to attend the full duration of the live seminar in person. Successful completion of the injection technique assessment is required in order to gain access to the post-live seminar activities.Part 3: Post-live seminar (approximately 1 hour)
Learners should complete the following requirements within 2 weeks after the live seminar.Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery Certificate of Achievement
All learners will be awarded with a Certificate of Achievement upon successful completion of the training program. The training associated with this certificate is based on current immunization standards and recommendations at the time of training. It is the responsibility of the immunizer to engage in continuing professional development and education to meet the immunization standards and practice expectations set forth by the immunizer’s own institution. This certificate does not expire, but immunizers should maintain and have accessible proof of the following:
1) Continuing professional development in the area of immunizations
2) Updated CPR certification (or BCLS), and
3) Updated OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen Training

Your self-study completion will be valid for 1 year from the date of enrolment. You can join the next live seminar (if available) within the period.
6. Will I receive a certificate for the course?
A Certificate of Achievement will be issued upon completion of the full course – home study, live seminar and post-live seminar activities.
7. Will I receive CPE points for attending the course?
This program is approved for 20 contact hours of CPE credit.
