The National Research Foundation (NRF) continues to play a central role in strengthening Singapore’s scientific and innovation ecosystem by supporting high‑impact research with strong translational potential. Among its flagship competitive extramural schemes, the Central Gap Fund is designed to accelerate the commercialization of promising technologies by providing critical support during the proof‑of‑concept and validation stages.

We are pleased to share an important milestone for our research community and delighted to share and congratulate Giorgia and her team, who have been awarded a prestigious NRF Central Gap Fund of S$1,4M as Lead Principal Investigator.

Her awarded program, Development of cosmetic formulations for permanent hair dyes, their impact on health and clinical trials on a large cohort of PPD‑sensitive patients,” seeks to push the boundaries of chemistry to develop safer, more consumer‑friendly cosmetic solutions. By integrating formulation innovation, health impact assessment, and large‑scale clinical trials in the USA, this ambitious project exemplifies the translational spirit the Central Gap Fund aims to nurture.

Congrats Giorgia and Team!
