Kicking off InSPIRxE 2023: A phenomenal start with dynamic connections and record turnout

The NUSPS Academic Committee is pleased to kickstart the third iteration of InSPIRxE (Inspiring Students in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science through Interactions and Enrichment), our flagship mentorship programme co-organised by NUS Pharmaceutical Society Academic Committee and NUS Pharmacy Alumni Group. This mentorship programme comprise a minimum of three mentor-mentee meetings over a span of 9 months, with the main aim of providing opportunities for Year 2-4 Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science undergraduates to develop themselves professionally, and to gain insights into their individual passion and interests under the guidance of their mentors. Through this programme, mentees would also gain valuable perspectives into industrial, clinical, and academic opportunities while fostering connections beyond university. The key highlight of this mentorship programme is our passionate and experienced mentors who are alumni of the Department bringing in rich experiences from their diverse backgrounds ranging from clinical practice, research and industry-focused fields (e.g. regulatory affairs, medical affairs, marketing, etc).

It was truly heartwarming to see so many returning faces, from both mentors and mentees, and to witness the incredible growth of our InSPIRxE family. This year, we’re proud to have almost doubled the scale of last year’s InSPIRxE programme, welcoming 31 mentors and 73 mentees into our vibrant community (up from 22 mentors and 38 mentees last year!). With this, this cycle promises to be the most dynamic and impactful cycle yet.

The networking session was a testament to the enthusiasm and dedication of our mentors and mentees. The energy within the venue was palpable as our seasoned alumni shared their experiences, and newcomers eagerly absorbed the wisdom and insights. This vibrant exchange of ideas and aspirations set the stage for an inspiring journey ahead, where knowledge and guidance will pave the way for personal and professional growth. We’re excited to witness the magic that will unfold as these relationships deepen and flourish throughout the course of InSPIRxE 2023. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and success stories!
