Pharmily Dinner 2023: Truly a night to remember

Pharmily Dinner is an event held every 4 years for faculty members, alumni and students across batches in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science. It is organised by the NUS Pharmaceutical Society to bring the Pharmacy-Pharmaceutical Science family together and bond over a meal. This year, the dinner held on 26th August 2023 hosted close to 150 guests at the Eternal Garden Restaurant at Grassroots’ Club in commemoration of the past year’s achievements and start of the new academic year.

Pre-dinner activities

The event started off with pre-dinner activities that the committee planned to keep guests occupied before dinner was served. Some of them stepped up to make and serve mocktail drinks to the guests while others set up a crafting booth for guests to make their own bracelets and scented sachets to bring home. Goodie bags were prepared for every guests too.

The Profs table!

Next up, an 8-course Chinese dinner was served and the emcees introduced the highlight of the night – RxFactor contest. This was a stage opened to all Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical students to showcase their talent and compete for cash prizes. Bands, singers and dancers went through auditions and spent hours practicing to put up spectacular performances for the Professors to judge. It was truly heart-warming to see them put in time and effort to perform for us! Apart from the performances, guests participated in quizzes for a chance to win attractive prizes. To end off the night, there was a lucky draw for all the attendees, photobooth for keepsake and prize ceremony for the RxFactor contest winners. Congratulations to 1st place – Ed She Ran (Tong Sheng, Yong Qing, Axel, Clara), 2nd place – Nandhini and 3rd place – Ocnus (Eliot, Shanice, Wei Kii) who walked away with $150, $100 and $50 cash prizes respectively and 1 Firefly photography voucher each.

Kudos to our lovely emcees for their enthusiasm and entertaining jokes

Overall, it was a successful event! We are truly grateful for everyone who took time out to attend our Pharmily Dinner and make this possible, and not forgetting the committee members for their months of hard work in fundraising, selling tickets and perfecting every detail for the dinner. We look forward to your continued support and all the best for rest of the academic year!
