InSPIRxE: The First Step

The InSPIRxE Mentorship Programme (organised by NUS Pharmaceutical Society Academic Committee and NUS Pharmacy Alumni Group) serves to connect Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science students with NUS Pharmacy alumni that have both industry and clinical expertise via a group mentoring model. Lasting for 9 months, the programme enables students to experience personal growth, receive guidance on career development, and ultimately aims to help students embark on the journey to discover their #PassionPridePurpose. Due to prevailing COVID-19 safe management measures, groups met their mentors for the first time online in the past 2 months. We hope that all our mentees gleaned valuable lessons from their mentors’ humble sharing and are one step closer to achieving the goals you have set out for yourselves. To our dear mentors, we hope you have enjoyed getting to know your mentees!

In this article, we spoke to 3 of our mentors, Ms Liew Yixin (Class of ’06), Mr Kevin Ben Laurence (Class of ’11) and Mr Louis Wong (Class of ‘14), to learn about what keeps them going. View the posters below and be inspired!

We hope that you have taken away some food for thought through this bite-sized sharing from our mentors! Stay tuned for more content from both InSPIRxE mentors and mentees in future PharmConnect issues. If you are an alumni who would like to find out more details about the programme and how you can participate, please feel free to reach out to pharmacy_alumni@nus.edu.sg. Till next time, stay safe!
