Vivien’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, discipline, and the courage to pursue multiple passions. As a national artistic swimmer and a pharmacy student, her journey is not just about medals and academic achievements but also about finding harmony between two demanding worlds and inspiring others to do the same.

While she cultivated her interest in artistic swimming since the age of 10, her interest in pharmacy only came later, through a love for chemistry and biology, and a desire to help others. “Being in sports taught me how crucial health is to performance. That’s when pharmacy made sense to me.”

At NUS, Vivien juggled two full-time commitments—pharmacy school and international competitions. Training was intense: 4 hours daily on weekdays, full days on weekends. “It was exhausting, but I learnt what it means to stay disciplined and show up, even when it’s hard.”

Vivien’s story is a beacon of inspiration for all on navigating and excelling in various commitments, from academic pursuits to extracurricular activities and personal growth. Her journey reminds us that with discipline, resilience, and a positive mindset, it is possible to thrive in multiple arenas and live a life without regrets. It is a reminder that success in pharmacy—and life—is not just about books and grades, but about resilience, purpose, and the courage to keep going, no matter how tough the journey gets. We thank Vivien for sharing her stories and wish her the very best in the next chapter of her life!
