Meds Made Easy @ Care Corner AAC
On 2 April 2026, the NUS Pharmaceutical Society’s (NUSPS) Essential Medicines Committee successfully conducted the second run of “Meds Made Easy”, this time held at Woodlands Care Corner. The Meds Made Easy workshop was designed to increase seniors’ medication literacy with special focus on effective and safe medication use and proper disposal.
With a turnout of around 40 seniors and 12 Pharmacy student volunteers, the session was one that was filled with meaningful interactions and positive energy throughout.
The seniors were first challenged with a pre-quiz on medication labels and disposal. Following that, they participated in a presentation, in which key concepts were introduced together with real-life examples and interactive post-quizzes to concertise learning.
During the workshop, the student volunteers were able to put their communication skills to the test as they facilitated a pill-sorting game, guided discussions and clarified seniors’ questions on appropriate medication management behaviours.

It was heartening to see both the seniors and volunteers showing much enthusiasm during the session, making it an enriching and enjoyable afternoon for all.
At the end of the workshop, all 27 participants who responded to the feedback survey agreed that the workshop has increased their knowledge on proper medication use and disposal. Among the 32 participants who took part in the post-quizzes, 91% of them scored full marks.

The Essential Medicines Committee would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Care Corner for their assistance in making this event possible, MOH National Pharmacy Programme Management Office for the use of the Know Your Medications educational resources, and all volunteers for their support. We look forward to more opportunities to foster greater health and medication literacy in the community.
