On Friday, 27 March 2026, students from the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (MPST) and PhD by Research programmes attended an immersive industry visit to Agilent Technologies, a global manufacturing leader recognized by the World Economic Forum. This excursion offered a rare “behind-the-scenes” look at the sophisticated infrastructure powering global pharmaceutical and analytical research.

The visit centered around two key hubs of innovation:

  • LC/MS Manufacturing Facility: Students were guided through the production floor, where they observed the intricate assembly and testing of Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS) systems. Seeing how this high-precision equipment was manufactured right here in Singapore provided a clear perspective on the nation’s role as a global high-tech hub.

  • Global Solution Development Center: The tour continued into the R&D center, where students learned how scientists and engineers collaborate to solve real-world analytical challenges, transforming theoretical concepts into practical laboratory solutions.

By connecting academic knowledge with industrial applications, such visits remain a cornerstone of the postgraduate experience, ensuring our students are well-prepared for the evolving demands of the pharmaceutical sector.

A sincere thank you to the team at Agilent Technologies for their warm hospitality and for sharing their commitment to scientific excellence with our students.
