Meds Made Easy @ AWWA AAC

On 27 March 2025, the NUS Pharmaceutical Society’s (NUSPS) Essential Medicines Committee conducted the first “Meds Made Easy” public education workshop from AWWA Active Ageing Centre. This workshop aimed to enhance medication literacy and empower senior with knowledge and tips on safe and effective medication management behaviours at home.

The session was attended by 30 seniors, and featured presentations and quizzes by student volunteers, using MOH’s Know Your Medications slides.

During the workshop, 11 Year 1 Pharmacy student volunteers enhanced their communication skills through meaningful interactions with the community by guiding discussions with the seniors and answering their questions on appropriate medication management behaviours.

At the end of the workshop, all 17 participants who responded to the feedback survey agreed that the workshop has increased their knowledge on proper medication use and disposal. Among the 21 participants who took part in the simple quiz on the content discussed, 95% of them scored full marks.

The Essential Medicines Committee would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to AWWA AAC for their assistance in hosting the event, MOH National Pharmacy Programme Management Office for sharing the educational resources, and all volunteers for their support. We look forward to more opportunities to promote health and medication literacy in the community.
