Meet our new Pharmily members!

The Department is delighted to introduce you the new members of the NUS Pharmily who joined in recent months (November 2019 – February 2020).

Meet Dr Gloryn Chia,

Assistant Professor Chia leads her research programme on cancer vaccine and stem cell therapies in the Department. Prior to the current appointment, she was a Research Fellow at the Bioprocessing Technology Institute, A*STAR, and Merck Sharp & Dohme. Since she joined the Department in November last year, Dr Chia has won the prestigious National Research Foundation Fellowship 2020 and was a runner-up in the 2019 L’Oreal Women in Science Fellowship. We are excited to have Dr Chia in NUS Pharmacy, to share and inspire everyone with her cutting-edge research work.

Meet Dr Leroy Koh,

Dr Koh is a Lecturer in the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice domain and he is also an alumnus of the Department (Class of ’14). Upon graduation, Leroy embarked on a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programme and Master in Public Health in the United States. He has also completed structured clinical training programmes including an internship at Khoo Teck Puat hospital and more recently, general residency training at the Houston Methodist Hospital (Texas, USA). We look forward to him sharing fresh perspective and contributing in our educational and clinical activities.

Meet Dr Bhatt,

Dr Shruti Bhatt is an Assistant Professor in the Pharmaceutical Biology and Pharmacokinetics domain in the Department. Prior to this, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard University in the laboratory of Anthony Letai. Her research interests is in the development of personalised medicines for drug-resistant cancers using dynamic BH3 profiling. We look forward to learn about personalized medicines research from Dr Shruti!
