New year, new members to our Pharmily!

At the beginning of this year, we welcomed two faculty staff to the Department. Get to know them through their self-introduction below. We are excited for the new collaborations and fruitful exchanges to come.

Meet Dr Lisa Brennan,

“Hi, I am Lisa, and I recently joined as a Senior Lecturer. I received my BA in Chemistry and Economics from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, MA in Teaching from Vanderbilt University, and PharmD from Creighton University, then pursued postgraduate residency training at UNC and a specialty residency in geriatrics at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Duke Center for Aging. Prior to joining NUS, I worked as pharmacy faculty at Wingate University in experiential education. My professional interests are geriatrics, global health, and interprofessional education.”

Meet Dr Elaine Lo,

“Hi – I am Elaine. I am currently a clinical pharmacist at the National University Hospital. A couple of years ago, the opportunity to be involved in pharmacogenomics came up and I became part of the taskforce to drive the implementation of pre-emptive pharmacogenomics across various health clusters in Singapore. This has been an exciting journey thus far and I can’t wait to share this new passion with our next generation of budding pharmacists through this adjunct appointment with the National University of Singapore.

My daily clinical work involves an extensive range of specialties including immunotherapeutics (inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatology), allergy, nephrology, intensive care and solid organ transplant. This, together with my research in gastroenterology and pharmacokinetics, keep my life busy and interesting.”
