Collaboration and Engagement with stakeholders

To meet the demands of the evolving pandemic, Huei-Xin and her team at Ministry of Health (MOH) forged new working relationships with different stakeholders to secure access to and monitor drug supplies as well as to handle COVID-19 vaccines. They also worked with retail pharmacies to educate and roll out the use of ART kits safely. To date, her team continues to support the management of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics. Learning from the COVID-19 experience, it’s important to always be prepared for the next pandemic. Chief Pharmacist Office is working towards developing a national drug supply resiliency framework to strengthen our drug supply chain such that our patients will continue to have uninterrupted access to their medications.

Teamwork makes the dream work!

The pandemic provided a rare opportunity to work with stakeholders that we would not normally engage. New colleagues and friends from public healthcare institutions, retail pharmacies, MOH, other Ministries, Statutory Boards, private companies, professional associations, etc went the extra mile to help ensure access and sufficient supplies of relevant drugs and information to empower public.
