MOE Academic Research Fund (AcRF) Tier 2 Grants support investigator-led research projects that demonstrate strong academic significance and the potential to create new knowledge. Designed to foster high-quality research excellence within Singapore’s Autonomous Universities, Tier 2 grants provide competitive funding for innovative and impactful studies that advance disciplinary frontiers, contribute to national research capabilities, and support the training of postgraduate research talent. Projects are evaluated through a rigorous competitive process and expected to deliver outcomes of international research quality.

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that three outstanding proposals led by our PIs have been successfully awarded funding under the Ministry of Education’s Academic Research Fund (AcRF) Tier 2 programme by the Academic Research Council (ARC). With a combined approved budget of S$2.65 million, this remarkable achievement is a strong testament to the excellence, innovation, and impact of our researchers’ work. These awards will foster new discoveries and further strengthen our institution’s position as a leader in pharmaceutical research and innovation.

 

  • Associate Professor Rachel EE

Proposal title:                   Precision Design and Structural Elucidation of Trap-and-Kill Peptide Nanonets for Next Generation Antimicrobial Therapy

Total approved budget:  0.64 million

 

  • Assistant Professor Liu Shi

Proposal title:                   Subcellular GPCR Modulation by Cyclic Peptides: Mechanistic Interrogation and Therapeutic Application

Total approved budget:  0.84 million

 

  • Assistant Professor Gloryn Chia

Proposal title:                   Deciphering Tumour-Associated Modulators of NK Cell Cytotoxicity

Total approved budget:  1.18 mil
