We are thrilled to share that Lie Wen, a PhD graduate under Professor Eric Chan, has been awarded the first prize for his presentation “I Gut a Feeling I’m Full: How Bacteria Signal the Brain” in the Universitas 21 (U21) Global Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition.

The Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT®) Global Competition challenges research students to explain their work in just three minutes to a non-specialist audience, building vital skills in communication, presentation, and impact. This international event recognises outstanding research students who excel at transforming complex scientific ideas into engaging, accessible narratives that resonate with audiences beyond academia.
