The AY24/25 INSPIRxE Committee is proud to launch the fourth iteration of INSPIRxE (Inspiring Students in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science through Interactions and Enrichment), our flagship mentorship programme organised together with the NUS Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Alumni Network!
Over the course of the year, INSPIRxE serves to connect Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science students with passionate alumni mentors that have both industry and clinical expertise via a group mentoring model. Through this programme, mentees can look forward to enhancing their personal skills and knowledge, gaining valuable insights about their passion and interests, as well as seeking feedback for personal and professional development.
We are excited to have a total of 30 mentors and 48 mentees to embark with us on this 9-month journey. This year, we have opted for smaller group sizes to create a a more comfortable atmosphere, as we believe this will encourage more meaningful and fruitful discussions. Hence, each group now consists of 2 mentors paired together with 2 to 3 mentees.
On 14 September 2024, we kick-started INSPIRxE through a dynamic networking session with a wonderful turnout of more than 60 mentors and mentees. The session aimed to provide a platform for mentees to get to know more about the mentors, which subsequently facilitated the formation of mentoring groups. The highlight of the session was undoubtedly the “PharmBingo” activity, in which mentors and mentees alike were tasked to fill up a bingo sheet through discovering fun trivia about one another. It was heartwarming to witness how the activity served as a stepping stone to unlock deeper and more meaningful conversations and connections. We wrapped up the session with some light refreshments, where more conversations continued.
Overall, we are pleased to announce that the networking session was a roaring success! With a strong foundation set, we are excited to see how INSPIRxE AY24/25 takes flight over the next 9 months.
