We are thrilled to share that Mr Ram Pravin Kumar Muthuramalingam, PhD candidate from the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPS), has been awarded funding of €5,000 under the Paris–NUS Research Call 2026, a joint initiative between the National University of Singapore and Université Paris Cité. His funded project, titled “Engineering Biohybrid Nano‑Cell Vesicle Systems for Targeted Delivery of Platinum(IV) Prodrugs to Overcome Drug Resistance in Cancer,” is conducted under the joint supervision of Prof Giorgia Pastorin (NUS), Prof. Hélène Bertrand (Sorbonne University), and Prof Christine Rampon (Université Paris Cité).
The project focuses on developing advanced platinum-based therapeutics integrated with biohybrid nano-delivery platforms (nCVTs) to address drug resistance in aggressive cancers, combining innovative drug design with translational nanomedicine approaches. This collaborative grant supports research exchange and joint scientific efforts between NUS and Université Paris Cité, further strengthening global partnerships in translational biomedical research. This achievement highlights both the scientific excellence of the project and the growing international impact of research within the PPS department. Please join us in congratulating Ram Pravin and Prof Giorgia on this accomplishment and wishing them continued success in their research and international collaboration.
