We are delighted to congratulate Dr Liu Boxiang, Zhang Yuntian (YLLSOM PhD Student), and Arunachalam (PPS PhD Student) on their success in the Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Science.

Their project topic “Predicting disease impacts by mapping how genetic variants regulate RNA splicing at a population scale,” was selected under this prestigious initiative, which supports innovative research harnessing artificial intelligence to accelerate scientific discovery and address complex global challenges.

The Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Science is a global initiative that supports researchers and organisations harnessing artificial intelligence to accelerate scientific breakthroughs. As one of 17 selected recipients worldwide, the team will benefit from a share of US$36 million in funding, as well as a six-month accelerator programme providing technical mentorship, engineering support, and cloud computing resources from Google to help advance impactful scientific research.

We are proud of their accomplishment and the recognition it brings to our institution’s research excellence and collaborative spirit.

Please join us in congratulating Dr Liu Boxiang, Zhang Yuntian, and Arunachalam on this outstanding achievement and wishing them continued success in their research endeavours.
